Yap Yee Huat v Pendakwa Raya

Yap Yee Huat was convicted by the Shah Alam High Court on 5.8.2021 for trafficking 1581 grams of ketamine under Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and sentenced to death. The Court of Appeal upheld the conviction but commuted the death sentence to 30 years imprisonment and 12 strokes of the cane, effective from the date of arrest.
