M. Gunalan a/l Muniandy v Public Prosecutor

The appellant was convicted in the High Court at Shah Alam for trafficking 377.2 grams of Methamphetamine under Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and sentenced to death. The Court of Appeal allowed the appeal in part, setting aside the trafficking conviction but substituting it with a conviction for possession under Section 12(2) punishable under Section 39A(2), sentencing the appellant to 12 years imprisonment and 10 strokes of whipping.
