Khairol Anuar Bin Zakaria v Pendakwa Raya

The appellant, Khairol Anuar Bin Zakaria, was convicted by the High Court of trafficking 1227.9 grams of cannabis under Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and sentenced to death. The Court of Appeal upheld the conviction but substituted the death sentence with life imprisonment (30 years) and 12 strokes of the cane following amendments to the Act.
