Hong Chee Meng & Wong Kem Moi v Fang Chee Peng & Ors

The Plaintiffs, Hong Chee Meng and Wong Kem Moi, sued the Defendants, including the estate of their late father Fang Yun Fei, over the transfer of shares in family companies. The Plaintiffs claimed that the shares were transferred based on an oral promise by the deceased to transfer certain properties to them. The Defendants denied the existence of such a promise and argued that the shares were transferred out of love and affection. The court dismissed the Plaintiffs' claim, finding no evidence of an oral promise and ruling that the shares were transferred as gifts.
