Public Prosecutor v Mehandran a/l Kandaiah

The accused, Mehandran a/l Kandaiah, was charged with trafficking 183.2 grams of methamphetamine on 29 July 2017 at PV13 Condominium, Setapak, Kuala Lumpur. The prosecution proved possession and trafficking through circumstantial evidence and statutory presumptions. The accused claimed ignorance, alleging he was delivering liquor. The court found the defence of innocent carrier unconvincing and convicted the accused under Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, sentencing him to death by hanging.
